The Pout

This is a very quick blog. The challenge for White With One this month was white with Marsala. I have chosen a very cute photo of Chloe with attitude. The colours in the photo really worked well with the Marsala theme. ( I should have had a little nip whilst doing so.)

These colours really contrasted beautifully with the white background and gave the page a nice crispness.

Thanks for Looking at my page.

Smile

This month has caught me out a bit and I haven't had time to do many challenges. So with a free morning I have attempted the Scrapbookit challenge. Fun Frames and Flairs. I have covered the Fun and Frames. Wasn't sure of the flairs. But you know the saying "in for a penny."
I have been wanting to try a bit of watercolour painting on my backgrounds for a while. So have given it a go on this page. Using a stencil as my outline and I then used water colour pencils for my colours. I really love the way the colours blend and flow together. Then I added some stamping and spritzing to add depth to the background. The main issue is the page warping from the water used. After some research I wet the pages and taped them down and then lay them flat to dry. I put them on the floor in front of the heater and if you look really closely you may be able to see my grandsons foot prints across the page.
All things considered I was happy with the outcome and I will definitely try this method again....hopefully without the footprints.

I hope you enjoy my page.

On a Bicycle Built for Two

If anyone from warmer climes is reading my blog today, appreciate the warmth because today here in North East of Victoria we are experiencing a very cold blast from the antarctic. Rain , cold winds and snow on the alps. But it does make it very cosy inside and very indusive to scrapping. I have had a page on my table for a couple of weeks, just dabbling away at it as time permitted. So today I have finished it. It was a challenge for Sketchabilities. I loved the sketch and had fun playing with it.
The photo is one of Chloe all rugged up and ready for a spin on the back of the bike with Mum peddling away. She loves to get outdoors and loves the back seat on the bike.

I have chosen an Echo Park paper, Spring feathers, as the background because it had a cool look and then added warm colours to reflect the cool day and then the rugged up warmth. I have then spritzed and added texture paste and stenciling. I loved the combination of colours and feel that they worked well together.

I hope you enjoy my page.
