Favourite 1.

It's late at night and I have just come home from a card making class. Before I go to bed I thought I would do this quick blog. I came across a challenge by Jot Magazine the other day and I just loved the colours in their inspiration board.
Meanwhile two days later I am finishing this blog. Sometimes you just run out of oomph and time.

It was the eclectic mix of colours that really attracted me to this challenge. Because I decided to use these colours I kept the page quite simple and just selected papers that featured the colours that I had chosen. I added a flower spray and painted a couple of metal embellishments to finish off.

Happy Scrapping.

Any One Can Be Cool

Lovely! I have a few days off work so I have been trying to do a little scrapping. I came across a great challenge for Scrap The Boys. I loved it and the page came together very quickly. Usually a page stays on my desk for a few days while I tweak it and poke at it and rearrange it.

I had this lovely photo of Noah and Grandpa in black and white and it enabled me to bring in some fabulous strong colours. These two have the most wonderful friendship, it is very special and I think the joy really comes out in the photo. Noah has been right beside Grandpa in all the oncology visits and they both have a great love of cars...hence the background paper. Noah will sit with Grandpa and they read the Wheels Magazine from front to back and then over again. It is beautiful to see.

Although all these papers are from different collections they really work well together. I am really pleased with how this page came together. No spritzing. No texture pasting. And amazingly for a page of mine.. No Flowers. Just a few great papers that create impact.

I think this is a favourite page of mine...may be the photo has a lot to do with it.
Happy Scrapping everyone.

Scrapbookit Guest

Good Morning Everyone.
I was very excited when Jo from Scrapbookit very generously asked me to be her Feature Artist for September.

My September theme from Jo was Christmas. Wow! Can it really be just around the corner? Jo sent me a beautiful package to work with. The gorgeous Kaisercraft Holy Night Collection,
which is available through Jo's online store, was just the stimulation I needed to get into the Christmas mood.

I began by spritzing the background of some Smooth White Kaiser cardstock with red craft paint and then daubed some spots with versa colour magenta ink. Mounting my photo onto red cardstock helped to lift it from the background as well as picking up the colour from the candy canes.
I cut some of the papers into banners and then placed them behind the photo, then tucking and layering a number of pieces from the kaisercraft Collectibles under the bottom corner of the photo. It was hard to choose which ones to use because they were all so beautiful. I complimented these by adding a fussy cut gold angel to the top corner.
Also in my pack were some fabulous green and red glitter leaf sprays. I adore a bit of bling and glitter so I put a leaf spray on the top right of my photo to balance the page.

Finally I fussy cut two of the stars on the Angels sheet and, using foam tape, I placed the smaller star on top of the larger one, finishing it off with a diamante in the centre of
the star and a scattering of others around... it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!!!
I hope this inspires you for the upcoming silly season.

Cheers and Happy Scrapping.

Happy Little Boy

Hi to all. Our spring weather hasn't made up its mind as to what it is going to be yet. Sunny and beautiful one minute and then cold and blustery the next.

White with One has for it's September challenge Antique Moss. You may well ask what colour would that be. OK . Good question. Answer. It is a lovely yellow/green. On a white background this is an amazing colour to work with.

Firstly I went through my bits and pieces to see  what I could come up with. Then I mixed some watercolour paint and away I went. I chose a photo of my beautiful grandson, Fletcher. I had taken these photo's a week ago and was keen to use one of them. The neutral tones in the photo played well with the strong colour.

I hope you enjoy my page.
