All That Glitters

I started this page at the beginning of December and then other things got in the way.....eg Christmas, birth of a new grandson... wow!
I realized I only had a day left for the challenge for White with One and I wanted to finish the page because I loved this photo so much. The enchantment of christmas. So one very late night later and  here it is. Firstly the main challenge was what colour is paloma. A bit of research and I hope it meets the criterea. Also the page needed to focus on the photo and I found this beautiful page for the background from the Websters collection All That Glitters and bingo it also gave me the title for the page.

Sweet Oranges

The Christmas rush is over. It was a lovely time to catch up with family. To watch the delight and joy of the grandchildren opening their presents. Now I am having a lovely lazy day finishing a page that I started a week or so ago. When our oranges were ripe on the tree Chloe thoroughly enjoyed the sweetness and the juicieness. It was a great crop of fruit. These photo's show the intense concentration and enjoyment. so I used them for the Stuck?!Sketches challenge.

Go You Good Thing!

The girls at Stuck Sketches have a great sketch challenge with multiple photo's. I love these because I so often don't use photo's that complete a story because I am focussing on one photo...the really great one that you love and that has turned out perfect. This is my selection for this challenge. My daughter and friends at the races.

I hope you enjoy my page.Happy scrapping.

Scrapping with the Stars Retreat

Isn't it amazing how long it seems to take when you are waiting for an exciting event to happen and then a week later it is done and dusted so quickly.
Thank you Stacey and Karen for a wonderful retreat at Phillip Island Resort. Classes by some talented teachers with projects to really stretch our capabilities and just chatting and looking at the wonderful work some  amazing people have done. The opportunity to just be immersed in a cocoon of scrapping without outside distractions.......although we did hear the roar of the V8 supercars faintly in the distance.....was a fabulous experience. Some peple travelled long distances to participate..  South Australia,Queensland, Tasmania, New South Wales etc.

Once again Stacey and Karen from Scrapping with the Stars, Thank you and cheers  and I hope to be there again next year rekindling new aquaintances and catching up with old friends.

Also can't forget to mention Peta who was MC extroardinaire, our fabulous musical entertainer, teller of jokes...the mention of a urinal will have me in stitches for a long time to come, I am actually chuckling as I write this....you had to be there..... and just general good person who tied it all together.

Photo: Thank you Stephanie Devlin for making our Scrapping with the Stars - Retreats group photo look so Purdy :) :) (We will send everyone a higher resolution copy of this pic too)

Cheers to all who went and had a good time.

Scrapbookit. Tic Tac Toe

Wow. I'm Getting this challenge in at the last minute. Scrapbookit had a Tic Tac Toe for their challenge this month. I haven't done this type of challenge before. My selection was teal, journalling and flowers. I love putting flowers on a page but really struggle with journalling. So I set myself the challenge. The colour chosen.... Teal...was very pretty and the flowers really set it off. In my backgroung I texture pasted and spritzed to bring it together. To lift the photo from the background I ruled double lines around a couple of the edges in the teal colour.

100% Fun

This page is  for Creative Scrappers challenge number 270. I started it quite a while ago but work and family got in the way of a finish. Today I have a day off and the weather is so ferocious out side that it is a good excuse to have to not go anywhere. I have a little garden outside the window of my scrap room and the pansies are getting a good dousing of rain.I love the rain on the roof and being inside and cosy.
The photo's on this page were a lovely collection from when Chloe and family had a day at the beach. She is a real beach babe. She just loves it.
I have chosen paper from the Wild rose studio called Annabelles Garden. I have added butterflies and bling.

I think my photography of my page could improve but on a dim day this was the best I could manage.
I hpe you enjoy my page.

Bling Princess

For this months challenge for Scrap 365 I chose a cute photo of Chloe wearing one of my necklaces. When we went to visit earlier this year she loved getting into my bag and trying different necklaces. She truly is a Bling Princess.

Baby Coco

This page is titled  Baby Coco.  Noah called Chloe by this name when he first started talking. I thought it was a cute name for her and it has stuck.
I have done this page as a challenge for Creative Scrappers.Challenge No 268. Because it was such an unusual sketch with all the circles it really caught my eye.The theme I have used is very pretty with lots of flowers and pearls and pinks. I have tried to keep the page simple and uncluttered because there was only a small interpretation for the photo and the photo is really the reason for the page. To soften and tie the circles to the page I have spritzed the background.

Noah.... 2014

The team at Scrap 365 have a great sketch to work with this month. I looked at it and thought it was great to use multiple photo's. I also had a little play with using water colours. I just used Derwent Pencils and a paint brush. I used it as part of the background and also on the tag for the title.I was happy with it and it has encouraged me to use it more on other pages. I used a diecut for the stars and then covered them with dimensional magic which gave them added depth.

Thanks for looking at my page. Happy Scrapping.

Summer Fun.. Chloe

This is a special day in Australia. We are celebrating ANZAC Day which means we pause to think of our diggers who fought for the freedom of our wonderful land in numerous incursions in other lands. We have our dawn memorial sevices and many return soldiers and current serving members and their families march in parades around the country. We think of our family members who made the ultimate sacrifice and we are also thankful for those who returned We thank them. We appreciate them. LEST WE FORGET.

On a lighter note Scrap the Girls challenge this month is to  scrap a girls page in a boy theme. It feels like you are doing something left handed. It sounded easy. Mmmmm.... only sounded easy. I have chosen a blue theme( blue for boys) but I have added dashes of pink.I have also deliberately chosen pink themed photo's ( pink for girls) to give me the balance I was after.

I loved these photo's and in the end enjoyed creating the page.I hope you enjoy my page.

Forever Beautiful

I have just spent an enjoyable Sunday scrapping and chatting the day away. This is a great way to relax and exchange some good ideas and also share some of  your stash. The page I was creating was looking ok but just needed that extra something and lo and behold my friend said "why dont you try this". And it turned out to be just right and the catalyst to spur me on for the rest of the page. Scrapping friends are special.
This is the page I created. Scrap 365 have an interesting challenge at the moment with lots of layering. I enjoyed this because I love using leftover pieces of patterned paper and mixing different ranges. I love the flowers that I have used. I have been waiting to use them on just the right page and this is the one.

Our Favourite Boy

While blog hopping I was thrilled to find the Scrap 365 blogsite. This  site is based in England and it made me think about being here in Australia with temperatures at the moment of approximately 40 degrees while in England it is freezing with snow storms.I am scrapping with the airconditioner on and not venturing out until the evening when...no guarantees...the temperature may have dropped a little.
They have a lovely challenge with three photo's. I love being able to do a page with multiple photo's because it tells more of the story of the photo. Sometimes it is hard to choose just one photo when you have a lovely series of  the same time when the photo was taken. When I first started scrapping I always did double pages to be able to  use a number of photo's and looking back it is very nice to look at the variety within the one page.

Anyhow enough rabbiting on. I hope you like my page and my version of the sketch.

Happy Scrapping.  Heather B :)
