This Little Guy

Janet at Scrapville had a wonderful retreat for us at The Hume Weir Resort at the beginning of this month. Some of us arrived on Thursday evening, others arrived Friday and we even had a few day visitors. Everyone that I have spoken to had faaaaaaaaaabulous time and we all plan to be there again next year. I shared a table with Di and Jenny and on the next table there was Cheryl who kept us in stitches the whole weekend. Every retreat needs a Cheryl, especially when it is late at night when you are starting to flag. The whole weekend seems to go in a blur and before you know it it is time to pack up and get back to the real world.
A retreat always seems to bring out the creative flair in you and I want to share a couple of pages.
Having  done all girly pages for a long time it is a challenge to do boy pages and I am loving scrapping my delightful grandson. So I thought  that I would do the Scrap the Boys Challenge. I hope you enjoy  my take on this months challenge.

Chic @ 8

One wet Saturday Lily and Mum......Andrea.....made this beautiful princess dress for dressups.Lily had a tiara that matched and it all went together rather nicely. It was the colour of the dress and tiara that inspired my page. It was a lovely colour to work with and Lily was happy to have her photo taken...she usually vanishes when I appear with the camera. So I thought this would be good for the Get Picky challenge.

I loved the flower detail...simple but effective

Kraftitup Challenge

kraft it up had an interesting sketch as a challenge. I chose a series of photo's and worked from there.
I loved the dogs and they finished off a boy page very nicely.

Whitewith1 Challenge

My second challenge on the weekend was the whitewith1 challenge. The theme was... purple with doodling. What to doodle? After much thought and looking at photo's for inspiration I finally settled  for this style.

I think Noah is happy with all his litle friends. I hope you like it.

Ballarat Retreat

I have just had a crazy weekend away with a group of fellow scrappers at Ballarat. A great thank you to Jenny who organised the weekend, and who also makes the weekend just that little bit crazier. We scrapped, laughed , ate Jenny's homemade pumpkin soup (that's mainly what we go for), tried a lttle bit more scrapping, stayed up late and had a wonderful weekend. The weather was kind and it was lovely to sit out in the sun and watch the robin redbreasts hopping about while sipping a cuppa. Also a gentle walk along the path through the tall gums. How much better can it get?
I decided to try a couple of challenges for my pages at the weekend.
The first one was a Scrapville sketch challenge  and the second was a card from Janets monthly pack. If you visit her blog you will see the page I have already done from the pack.

I loved the papers for this lovely photo. They reflected the happy smile.

These Heritage papers are not my usual colours and style. But when you get a pack as a challenge they take you out of your comfort zone andI was surprised at how I enjoyed them.

Brrrr. It's winter

Well I have been a bit slow on the whole blog thing lately. But I was thinking how cold it has been with all the colds and cough scenario but spring is around the corner. I thought would share with you a page I did of Lily last winter in her new hat.

I would like to share this page with you. It was a sketch challenge for Scrapville. I had fun with the border punches and it made an interesting border on the photo.

Love U

The team at Get Picky have had a great sketch challenge this month.I chose two photo's of Lily that I thought worked well with the sketch. It is really difficult to get good photo's of her these days. I think that I have worn out my welcome with the camera and she runs off when I pull it out to take photo's. So this time I asked her to nurse baby Noah while I took photo's of him. I still got some shots of Noah but also some lovely ones of Lily. We grandma's didn't come down in the last shower.I was also really happy with how the flowers turned out.

Introducing

Two weeks ago we welcomed Noah Samuel our beautiful little grandson.Andrea and Steve are the proud parents and Lily is a doting big sister. Now I will have to diversify into blue pages. After eight years of pink this will be a big change...but a change that I am looking forward to.

Lily Blossom

The team at Get Picky have a great challenge this month.I loved the colours and the touch of blue with the white and pink really inspired me. I also loved the blossoms. The blossoms on my page were flowers that I bought then took apart, discarded a few bits and then reassembled to the look that I wanted. I was happy with the end result.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Well Christmas is all over now, It goes by in the blink of an eye.I hope everyone had a wonderful time and didn't suffer too much from overeating and drinking. We all must have been good little munchkins this last year because Santa was very good to us. We celebrated at Christie's house this year and unfortunately Andrea, Steve and Lily couldn't make it to Melbourne to celebrate with us but they had a wonderful time with Steve's family. This year is looking good with the anticipation of welcoming our second grandchild in March. Very exciting.
